     Reverend Joseph Poulter was born circa 1739.2 He was the son of Andrew Poulter and Letitia Canning. He married, firstly, Elizabeth Geale, daughter of John Geale and Elizabeth Evans, on 28 May 1763.3 He married, secondly, Margaret Denis, daughter of William Denis, on 14 July 1775.3 He died in January 1789.
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1761 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He was Curate on 28 September 1762 at Aghmacart, County Laois, IrelandG.1 He was Curate in 1766 at Inchicloghan, Ireland.2 He was Vicar in 1777 at Kilculliheen, County Waterford, Ireland.2 He lived at Dunlath, County Cork, IrelandG.4
