     He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1916 in the 8th Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment.³

     Sidney Field married Mona Isobel Dewar, daughter of Charles Dewar and Jane Greig Smart, in 1931 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England.^1,2

     Arthur Dewar, Lord Dewar was born on 14 March 1860.¹ He was the son of John Dewar and Jane Gow.¹ He married Letitia Dalrymple Bell, daughter of Robert Bell, on 2 August 1892.¹ He died on 14 June 1917 at age 57.¹
     He graduated from Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1885.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Edinburgh between 1899 and 1900.¹ He was appointed King’s Counsel (K.C.) in 1903.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Edinburgh between 1906 and 1910.¹ He held the office of Solicitor-General [Scotland] between 1909 and 1910.¹ He gained the title of Lord Dewar [Scottish Law Lord] in 1910.¹ He held the office of a Lord of Session between 1910 and 1917.¹

     Letitia Dalrymple Bell was the daughter of Robert Bell.¹ She married Arthur Dewar, Lord Dewar, son of John Dewar and Jane Gow, on 2 August 1892.¹ She died on 7 July 1955.¹
     From 2 August 1892, her married name became Dewar.¹

     Veronica Anne Delderfield is the daughter of Ronald Frederick Delderfield.² She married Burton Richard Edward Persse, son of Brigadier Sydney Henry Persse and Violet Constance Blunt, on 4 July 1964.¹
     From 4 July 1964, her married name became Persse.

     Henry Persse was the son of Francis Persse and Dorothy Blakeney.¹ He died before 22 November 1817.¹
     He lived at Ballyglass, County Galway, Ireland.¹
