     He was educated at Royal Naval College, Osborne, Isle of Wight, England^G.² He was educated at Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Devon, England^G.² He fought in the Second World War.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve.² He was branch manager of Doherty Roadhouse & McCuaig Duncan at British Columbia, Canada.² He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Piers, of Tristernagh Abbey, co. Westmeath [E., 1660/1] on 27 June 1945.²
