     Lt.-Gen. George Mytton Hill was born on 25 May 1810.1 He was the son of Richard Hill and Anne Mytton.2 He married Harriet Mary Benyon Whish, daughter of M. T. Whish, on 23 October 1841.1 He died in 1883.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in the Bengal Army.1

     He fought in the Boer War.1 He was Colonel of the 3rd Battalion, Cheshire Regiment.1
