Admiral Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy, 1st and last Bt. was born in 1769.2 He married Louisa Emily Anne Berkeley, daughter of Admiral Hon. Sir George Cranfield Berkeley and Lady Emilia Charlotte Lennox.1 He died on 20 September 1839.
He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)3 He gained the rank of Flag Captain in the Royal Navy, on H.M.S. Victory.3 He gained the title of 1st Baronet Hardy.
