     He was educated at Shrewsbury School, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England^G.¹ He was officer between 1944 and 1946, Royal Army Service Corps.¹ He lived in 2003 at Barnhill, Nauton, Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹

     John Alec Clift lived at The Orchards, Loxley, Warwickshire, England.¹

     Daphne Esther Clift is the daughter of John Alec Clift.² She married Christopher Wolf Arden Hickman, son of Wilfred Haden Hickman and Kathleen Mary Stuart Nason, on 18 April 1949.¹
     From 18 April 1949, her married name became Hickman.
