     Janet Miller is the daughter of John Miller of Newton.² She married Reverend George Maxwell of Auldhouse, son of John Maxwell of Auldhouse and unknown daughter Dunlop.¹
     Her married name became Maxwell.

     John Maxwell of Auldhouse was the son of Reverend George Maxwell of Auldhouse and Janet Miller.² A contract for the marriage of John Maxwell of Auldhouse and Elizabeth Stewart was signed on 8 January 1621.¹ He died circa 1666.¹
     He held the office of Rector of Glasgow University.¹ He was the Minister at Eastwood, Renfrewshire, Scotland^G.¹

     James Stewart was Tutor of Blackhall.¹

     Elizabeth Stewart is the daughter of James Stewart.² A contract for the marriage of Elizabeth Stewart and John Maxwell of Auldhouse was signed on 8 January 1621.¹
     From 8 January 1621, her married name became Maxwell.

     Sir George Maxwell of Auldhouse and Pollok was the son of John Maxwell of Auldhouse and Elizabeth Stewart.² He married Annabella Stewart, daughter of Sir Archibald Stewart of Blackhall and Margaret Blair, in 1646.² He died in April 1677.²

     Annabella Stewart is the daughter of Sir Archibald Stewart of Blackhall and Margaret Blair.² She married Sir George Maxwell of Auldhouse and Pollok, son of John Maxwell of Auldhouse and Elizabeth Stewart, in 1646.¹
     From 1646, her married name became Maxwell.

     Sir John Maxwell of Auldhouse, 1st Bt. was born in 1648.¹ He was the son of Sir George Maxwell of Auldhouse and Pollok and Annabella Stewart.³ He married Marian Stewart, daughter of Sir James Stewart of Coltness and Kirkfield, on 23 February 1671.¹ He died on 4 July 1732, without issue.¹
     He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland]¹ He was created 1st Baronet Maxwell, of Pollok, co. Renfrew [Nova Scotia] on 12 April 1682.¹ He held the office of a Lord Commissioner of Exchequer and Treasury.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Renfrewshire between 1690 and 1696.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Renfrewshire in 1698.¹ He held the office of a Lord of Session in 1699.¹ He held the office of Lord Justice Clerk in 1702.¹ On 27 March 1707 he received an extension of remainder to his heirs of entail whatsoever in his lands and estates.¹

     Marian Stewart was the daughter of Sir James Stewart of Coltness and Kirkfield.² She married Sir John Maxwell of Auldhouse, 1st Bt., son of Sir George Maxwell of Auldhouse and Pollok and Annabella Stewart, on 23 February 1671.¹ She died in 1706.¹
     From 23 February 1671, her married name became Maxwell.

     George Maxwell was the son of Sir George Maxwell of Auldhouse and Pollok and Annabella Stewart.² He died before 14 August 1688.¹
