     A/Cdre. James Louis Forbes was born on 26 January 1880.¹ He was the son of Captain James Arthur Forbes and Fearne Jemima Kinnear.² He married Marjorie Putnam, daughter of Sir Captain Thomas Putnam and Minnie Newman, on 28 January 1919.¹ He died in 1965.¹
     He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.¹ He gained the rank of Air Commodore in the Royal Air Force.¹

     Sir Captain Thomas Putnam was born in 1863 at Darlington, County Durham, England.² He married Minnie Newman in 1886 at Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England.² He died on 2 June 1936 at Greylands, Conniscliffe Road, Darlington, County Durham, England.²

     Marjorie Putnam was born on 10 February 1890 at Darlington, County Durham, England.² She was the daughter of Sir Captain Thomas Putnam and Minnie Newman.^3,2 She married, firstly, Captain Philip Picot, son of Major Francis Slater Picot and Ada Melvill Simons, on 29 November 1912 at St. Jude’s, West Kensington, London, England.^1,2 She married, secondly, A/Cdre. James Louis Forbes, son of Captain James Arthur Forbes and Fearne Jemima Kinnear, on 28 January 1919.¹
     From 29 November 1912, her married name became Picot.¹ From 28 January 1919, her married name became Forbes.

     Major James Alexander Forbes was born on 23 November 1919.¹ He was the son of A/Cdre. James Louis Forbes and Marjorie Putnam.² He married Susan Elizabeth Hornby, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Alan Hugh Hornby, on 15 May 1946.¹ He died in 1981 at Hastings, Sussex, England.³
     He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Gordon Highlanders.¹ He lived at Mill Cottage, Fulmer, Buckinghamshire, England^G.¹

     Maj.-Gen. Alan Hugh Hornby was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹

     Susan Elizabeth Hornby is the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Alan Hugh Hornby.² She married Major James Alexander Forbes, son of A/Cdre. James Louis Forbes and Marjorie Putnam, on 15 May 1946.¹
     From 15 May 1946, her married name became Forbes.

     Michael James Forbes was born on 18 February 1949.¹ He is the son of Major James Alexander Forbes and Susan Elizabeth Hornby.²

     Caroline Susan Forbes was born in 1953.¹ She is the daughter of Major James Alexander Forbes and Susan Elizabeth Hornby.²

     Colonel Reginald Michael Norman Forbes was born on 29 September 1881.¹ He was the son of Captain James Arthur Forbes and Fearne Jemima Kinnear.² He died on 23 January 1969 at age 87, unmarried.¹
     He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded.¹ He was awarded the Order of the White Eagle of Serbia.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Artillery.¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Brigadier in 1938.¹

     Mary Constance Forbes was the daughter of Captain James Arthur Forbes and Fearne Jemima Kinnear.² She died on 11 March 1959, unmarried.¹
     She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1918.¹
