He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1886 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He held the office of Judge of the High Court [Calcutta] between 1899 and 1913.1 He succeeded as the 12th Baronet Harington, of Ridlington, co. Rutland [E., 1611] on 6 February 1911.1

He held the office of Recorder of Banbury between 1951 and 1956.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Herefordshire in 1953.1 He held the office of Recorder of Windsor between 1956 and 1958.1 He was appointed Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) in 1957.1 He held the office of Judge of the County Courts, Hampshire Circuit between 1958 and 1961.1 He held the office of Judge of the County Courts, North Staffordshire Circuit between 1961 and 1967.1 He held the office of Judge of the County Courts, Wolverhampton Circuit in 1967.1
