     Robert Edward Stuart Harington-Stuart was born on 9 November 1834.1 He was the son of Robert Harington and Charlotte Stuart.2 He married, firstly, Louisa Alice Arundell, daughter of Hon. Robert Arthur Arundell, on 28 April 1863.1 He married, secondly, Alice Sidney Madocks, daughter of Henry Robarts Madocks and Hon. Amelia Anne Napier, on 7 October 1902.1 He died on 27 December 1911 at age 77, without issue.1
     He was given the name of Robert Edward Stuart Harington at birth.1 He fought in the Crimean War.3 He gained the rank of Captain in the Rifle Brigade.1 He was awarded the Royal Officers’ Decoration (V.D.)1 On 20 November 1879 his name was legally changed to Robert Edward Stuart Harington-Stuart.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 2nd Volunteer Battalion, Cameronians.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He fought in the Boer War.3 He was Aide-de-Camp to Lord Dundonald, 3rd Mounted Brigade.3

     From 28 April 1863, her married name became Harington. From 20 November 1879, her married name became Harington-Stuart.1
