     He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the King’s Royal Rifle Corps.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1918.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Bellew, of Mount Bellew, co. Galway [U.K., 1838] on 20 January 1942.1
