     He fought in the First World War.² He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Connaught Rangers.¹ He gained the rank of Squadron Commander in the Royal Flying Corps.² He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹

     Thomas Henry Grattan-Bellew was born on 9 May 1901.¹ He was the son of Sir Henry Christopher Grattan-Bellew, 3rd Bt. and Lady Sophia Maria Elizabeth Forbes.² He married Bettina Idrone Dorothy Loftus, daughter of Major John Edward Blake Loftus, on 1 June 1933.¹ He died on 3 December 1967 at age 66.¹
     He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, England^G.² He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was awarded the Knight, Sovereign Military Order of Malta.¹

     Major John Edward Blake Loftus lived at Mount Loftus, County Kilkenny, Ireland^G.¹

     Bettina Idrone Dorothy Loftus was the daughter of Major John Edward Blake Loftus.² She married Thomas Henry Grattan-Bellew, son of Sir Henry Christopher Grattan-Bellew, 3rd Bt. and Lady Sophia Maria Elizabeth Forbes, on 1 June 1933.¹ She died on 10 March 1995.¹
     From 1 June 1933, her married name became Grattan-Bellew.

     Dr. Patrick Edward Grattan-Bellew was born on 26 September 1934.¹ He was the son of Thomas Henry Grattan-Bellew and Bettina Idrone Dorothy Loftus.² He married Elly Bollegraaf-Dwinger Gruner, daughter of Nathan Gruner, in 1980.¹ He died on 8 March 2020 at age 85 at Ottawa, Quebec, Canada.³
     He was educated at Glenstal Priory School, Ireland.² He graduated from University College Dublin, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)¹ He graduated from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada^G, in 1963 with a Master of Science (M.Sc.)¹ He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)¹ He was a mineralogist.¹ He lived in 2003 at 472 Edison Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada^G.¹

     Elly Bollegraaf-Dwinger Gruner is the daughter of Nathan Gruner.² She married Dr. Patrick Edward Grattan-Bellew, son of Thomas Henry Grattan-Bellew and Bettina Idrone Dorothy Loftus, in 1980.¹
     From 1980, her married name became Grattan-Bellew.

     Idrone Pauline Mary Grattan-Bellew was born on 30 June 1936.¹ She is the daughter of Thomas Henry Grattan-Bellew and Bettina Idrone Dorothy Loftus.² She married Roger William Brittain, son of Samson S. W. Brittain, on 28 June 1964.¹
     From 28 June 1964, her married name became Brittain.

     Roger William Brittain was the son of Samson S. W. Brittain.² He married Idrone Pauline Mary Grattan-Bellew, daughter of Thomas Henry Grattan-Bellew and Bettina Idrone Dorothy Loftus, on 28 June 1964.¹ He died on 22 December 2010.³
