     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.¹

     Grace Kitto was born on 13 February 1955.¹ She is the daughter of F/Lt. Francis Ernest Appleyard Kitto and Esther Grant.²

     Guinevere Grant was born on 8 September 1916.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Alfred Hamilton Grant of Dalvey, 12th Bt. and Margaret Lucia Cochran.² She married, firstly, Captain K. Lionel Hunter, son of A. C. Hunter, on 19 February 1944.¹ She married, secondly, Colonel Sir John Dudley Robert Tarleton Tilney on 3 June 1954.² She died on 4 April 1997 at age 80.²
     She was educated at Westonbirt School, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ She was 2nd Officer in the Women’s Royal Naval Service during the Second World War.¹ From 19 February 1944, her married name became Hunter. She was Private Secretary to the Earl of Selborne between 1949 and 1954.¹ From 3 June 1954, her married name became Tilney.² She was President of the National Council Women of Great Britain between 1968 and 1970.² She held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Lancashire between 1971 and 1974.¹ She held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Merseyside between 1974 and 1976.² She was Advisor to the Prime Minister between 1975 and 1983.² She was appointed Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (D.B.E.) in 1983.¹

     A. C. Hunter lived at Montreal, Quebec, Canada^G.¹

     Captain K. Lionel Hunter was the son of A. C. Hunter.² He married Guinevere Grant, daughter of Sir Alfred Hamilton Grant of Dalvey, 12th Bt. and Margaret Lucia Cochran, on 19 February 1944.¹ He died on 22 November 1947.
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Canadian Dragoons.¹

     Tony Lionel Hunter-Tilney was born on 19 July 1947.¹ He was the son of Captain K. Lionel Hunter and Guinevere Grant.² He married Juliet Mary Faller, daughter of John Benson Faller, on 17 December 1970.¹ He died, without issue.¹
     He was given the name of Tony Lionel Hunter at birth.¹ In December 1954 his name was legally changed to Tony Lionel Hunter-Tilney by Deed Poll.¹ He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹
