     From before 1857, her married name became Joyce.¹ From 21 September 1857, her married name became Gordon.

     Mary Christian Gordon was born circa 1829 at Togland, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland^G.² She was the daughter of Sir John Gordon of Earlston and Afton, 5th Bt. and Mary Irving.³ She married John Shand on 3 May 1854 at Earlston House, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland^G.^1,2 She died on 21 February 1887.¹
     From 3 May 1854, her married name became Shand.

     From 11 July 1872, her married name became James.

     From 7 August 1861, her married name became Forbes.¹

     Stevenson Forbes married John Anne Gordon, daughter of Sir John Gordon of Earlston and Afton, 5th Bt. and Mary Irving, on 7 August 1861 at Earlston House, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland^G.¹

     William Gordon was born circa 1787 at St. James, Jamaica^G.² He was the son of James Gordon and Christiana Scarlett.³ He was baptised on 16 May 1787 at St. James, Jamaica^G.² He married Anne Carr Mowat.¹

     Anne Carr Mowat married William Gordon, son of James Gordon and Christiana Scarlett.¹ She died on 19 February 1849.¹
     Her married name became Gordon.

     John Gordon was born on 18 March 1810.¹ He was the son of William Gordon and Anne Carr Mowat.² He married Caroline Tulk, daughter of Charles A. Tulk.¹ He died on 21 February 1849 at age 38.¹
     He was a practising barrister.¹ He was Official Assignee of Calcutta.¹
