Lt.-Gen. Sir Robert Hamilton of Silvertonhill, 4th Bt.1

     Lt.-Gen. Sir Robert Hamilton of Silvertonhill, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir John Hamilton of Silvertonhill, 3rd Bt. and Mary Lewers.2 He married, firstly, Mary Williams, daughter of William Peere Williams and Anne Hutchins.2 He married, secondly, Anne Heathcote, daughter of Sir John Heathcote, 2nd Bt. and Bridget White, on 6 February 1778.1 He died on 10 August 1786.2
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Hamilton, of Silvertonhill [N.S., 1646] in 1748.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 108th Foot.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1763 in the 40th Regiment.2

     He gained the rank of officer in the 7th Hussars.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He lived at Elm Hill, County Limerick, IrelandG.1
