     William Jerrold Heathcote was born on 19 March 1915.^1,2 He was the son of Albert Jerrold Heathcote and Dorothy Twycross.³ He married Johanna Hofmeyr on 13 June 1954.¹ He died on 22 August 1979 at age 64.²
     He fought in the Second World War in 1942, and became a POW in Italy.¹
