     Hon. Arthur Ernest Harris-Temple was born on 31 January 1835.2 He was the son of William George Harris, 2nd Baron Harris and Isabella Helena Temple.3 He married Jane Butler Bryan, daughter of Reverend Richard Butler Bryan and Emily Margaret Hogan, on 25 May 1871.1 He was also reported to have been married on 25 July 1871.2 He died on 12 August 1906 at age 71.2
     He was given the name of Arthur Ernest Harris at birth.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the 43rd Foot.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Westmeath.2 On 25 April 1900 his name was legally changed to Arthur Ernest Harris-Temple by Royal Licence.2

     Jane Butler Bryan was the daughter of Reverend Richard Butler Bryan and Emily Margaret Hogan.2,3 She married, firstly, Captain Arthur Chaigneau before 1871.2 She married, secondly, Hon. Arthur Ernest Harris-Temple, son of William George Harris, 2nd Baron Harris and Isabella Helena Temple, on 25 May 1871.1 She was also reported to have been married on 25 July 1871.2 She died on 11 May 1891.2
     From before 1871, her married name became Chaigneau.2 From 25 May 1871, her married name became Harris-Temple.1
