     Helen Charlotte Forbes-Gordon was born on 26 May 1891.¹ She was the daughter of Arthur Newton Forbes-Gordon and Penelope Christie.²
     She was educated at Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ She was educated at Royal Academy of Music, London, England^G.¹

     Captain William Balfour Forbes was born on 10 December 1845.¹ He was the son of Arthur Forbes-Gordon of Rayne and Charlotte Balfour.² He married Helen Arabella Persse, daughter of Walter Blakeney Persse and Anne Jane Whiteman, on 25 November 1889.¹ He died on 9 May 1928 at age 82.¹
     He was given the name of William Balfour Forbes-Gordon at birth.¹ He fought in the Straits of Malacca in 1874.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was awarded the Albert Medal (A.M.) 2nd Class.¹

     Walter Blakeney Persse was born on 13 October 1831.^1,2 He was the son of Colonel William Persse and Eliza Moore.³ He was baptised on 22 November 1831 at Meerut, Bengal, India.² He married Anne Jane Whiteman, daughter of John Clarmont Whiteman, in 1860.¹ He died on 1 January 1889 at age 57.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 90th Light Infantry.⁴ He fought in the Crimean War.¹ He lived at Bagenalstown, County Carlow, Ireland.¹

     Helen Arabella Persse was born in 1869.² She was the daughter of Walter Blakeney Persse and Anne Jane Whiteman.^3,4 She married Captain William Balfour Forbes, son of Arthur Forbes-Gordon of Rayne and Charlotte Balfour, on 25 November 1889.¹ She died on 6 October 1958.¹
     From 25 November 1889, her married name became Forbes.

     Evan Charles Sutherland lived at Skibo Castle, Sutherland, Scotland^G.²

     Major Ian Alastair Ewing married Helen Violet Forbes, daughter of Captain William Balfour Forbes and Helen Arabella Persse, in 1940.¹

     Arthur Michael Gerald Sutherland Forbes was born posthumously on 26 June 1918.¹ He was the son of Lieutenant Arthur Walter Forbes and Eveline Betty Sutherland.² He married Phoebe Mabel Barrett, daughter of Lt.-Col. Cyril Charles Johnson Barrett, on 8 March 1947.¹ He died on 20 June 2003 at age 84.³
     He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He fought in the Northwest Frontier.¹ He fought in the Korean War in 1951.¹ He retired from the military, with the rank of Major, late of the King’s Own Scottish Borderers.¹ He was an executive with Shell.¹

     Lt.-Col. Cyril Charles Johnson Barrett was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.)¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.)¹

     Phoebe Mabel Barrett was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Cyril Charles Johnson Barrett.² She married Arthur Michael Gerald Sutherland Forbes, son of Lieutenant Arthur Walter Forbes and Eveline Betty Sutherland, on 8 March 1947.¹ She died in 1989.¹
     From 8 March 1947, her married name became Forbes.

     Christine Helen Forbes was born on 24 April 1949.¹ She is the daughter of Arthur Michael Gerald Sutherland Forbes and Phoebe Mabel Barrett.²
     She lived in 2003 at 151 Horton Hill, Epsom, Surrey, England^G.¹
