     James Graham Adam was born on 30 July 1800.¹ He was the son of Francis Adam.¹ He married Jane Brown McIndoe, daughter of Charles McIndoe and Janet Buchanan, on 4 December 1835.¹ He died on 24 February 1860 at age 59.¹

     Jane Brown McIndoe was the daughter of Charles McIndoe and Janet Buchanan.^2,1 She married James Graham Adam, son of Francis Adam, on 4 December 1835.¹ She died on 19 March 1891.¹
     From 4 December 1835, her married name became Adam.

     Margaret Ogilvy is the daughter of Alexander Ogilvy, 4th of Deskford and Findlater and Janet Abernethy.¹ She married James Gordon, 1st of Lesmoir, son of George Gordon and unknown Innes.²
     Her married name became Gordon.¹

     Alexander Ogilvy, 4th of Deskford and Findlater was the son of James Ogilvy, 3rd of Deskford and Findlater and Lady Agnes Gordon.² He married, firstly, Janet Abernethy, daughter of James Abernethy, 3rd Lord Saltoun of Abernethy and unknown wife (?).¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Gordon, daughter of Adam Gordon, before 1535.¹ He died in July 1544.³
     He resigned his lands to the Crown, creating the Barony of Ogilvy which was entailed on him and his heirs.¹

     James Gordon, 1st of Lesmoir was born in 1472.¹ He was the son of George Gordon and unknown Innes.¹ He married, secondly, Margaret Ogilvy, daughter of Alexander Ogilvy, 4th of Deskford and Findlater and Janet Abernethy.² He married, firstly, Anne Stewart.¹ He died in 1505.¹

     General Sir Ronald Forbes Adam, 2nd Bt. was born on 30 October 1885.¹ He was the son of Sir Frank Forbes Adam, 1st Bt. and Rose Frances Kemball.² He married Anna Dorothy Pitman, daughter of Frederic Islay Pitman, on 7 January 1915.¹ He died on 26 December 1982 at age 97.¹
     He was commissioned in 1905, in the service of the Royal Artillery.¹ He fought in the First World War, in France and Italy, and was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Forbes Adam, of Hankelow Court, co. Sussex [U.K., 1917] on 22 December 1926.¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1931 and 1941, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of Temporary Brigadier and Deputy Director of Military Operations in 1936.¹ He gained the rank of Commander between 1936 and 1937 in the Royal Artillery, 1st Division.¹ He gained the rank of Major-General in 1937.¹ He was Deputy CIGS from with the local rank of Lieutenant-General in 1938.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1939.¹ He was commander of the 3rd Corps in France.¹ He was Colonel-Commandant of the Royal Artillery and Army Education Corps in 1940.¹ He was GOC-in-C of the Northern Command in 1940.¹ He gained the rank of Adjutant-General of the Forces in 1941.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1941.¹ He gained the rank of General in 1942.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1946.¹ He was chairman of the University of London, Institute of Education between 1946 and 1967.¹ He was chairman of the Executive Board, UNESCO between 1952 and 1954.¹

     Frederic Islay Pitman lived at Searlets, Twyord, Berkshire, England^G.¹

     Anna Dorothy Pitman was the daughter of Frederic Islay Pitman.² She married General Sir Ronald Forbes Adam, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Frank Forbes Adam, 1st Bt. and Rose Frances Kemball, on 7 January 1915.¹ She died on 2 May 1972.¹
     From 7 January 1915, her married name became Forbes Adam.

     Barbara Forbes Adam was born on 11 June 1917.¹ She was the daughter of General Sir Ronald Forbes Adam, 2nd Bt. and Anna Dorothy Pitman.² She married Sir Philip Dennis Proctor, son of Sir Philip Bridger Proctor, on 29 August 1953.¹ She died on 15 August 2002 at age 85.¹
     From 29 August 1953, her married name became Proctor.
