     William Nicholas Persse was born in 1794 at Roxborough, County Galway, Ireland.1,2 He was the son of William Blakeney Persse.1 He married Bedilia Persse Egan, daughter of Patrick Egan and Maria Persse, before 17 May 1819 at Ballinasloe, County Galway, IrelandG.1 He died before June 1863.1
     He fought in the Battle of Waterloo on 18 June 1815.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1819 in the 77th Regiment.1 He lived at Meelick, County Galway, Ireland.4
