Rt. Hon. Sir Alexander Charles Onslow Fergusson was born on 8 April 1949.1 He was the son of Reverend Simon Charles David Fergusson and Auriole Kathleen Hughes-Onslow.3 He married Jane Merryn Barthold, daughter of G/Capt. Bertram Barthold, in 1974.1 He died on 31 July 2018 at age 69.4
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South of Scotland [Scotland] between 1999 and 2003.5 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Galloway and Upper Nithsdale [Scotland] in 2003.5 He lived in 2003 at Grennan, Dalry, Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbrightshire, ScotlandG.1 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 2016.5
