     Maj.-Gen. Sir Nevill Maskelyne Smyth, V.C. was the son of Sir Warington Wilkinson Smyth and Anna Maria Antonia Story-Maskelyne.1 He married Evelyn Olwen Williams, daughter of Sir Arthur Osmund Williams, 1st Bt. and Frances Evelyn Greaves, on 23 July 1918.2 He died on 21 July 1941.
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)2 He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.)1
