On 26 May 1648 he had sasine of lands of Crathie from Thomas Farquharson of Ennets (who had acquired them 26 May 1638 from Robert’s brother William.)1 On 16 March 1655 and granted the sasine of Crathie to his son.1

He made over the property to his half-uncle, Robert.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1745 in the James Farquharson of Balmoral’s Regiment.1 He fought in the Jacobite Rising in 1745, and was captured after Culloden at Inverness and Tilbury.1 On 8 November 1746 he was tried and sentenced to death, but escaped, and lived at Dunkirk and Florence.1 He had six children.1
