     Robert Farquharson, 1st of Finzean was the son of Donald Farquharson, 1st of Monaltrie and Janet Ogilvy.2 He married Katherine Mackintosh, daughter of Lachlan ‘Mor’ Mackintosh, 16th of Mackintosh, 17th Chief of Clan Chattan and Agnes Mackenzie.1 He died in 1632.1
     He held the office of Burgess of Aberdeen in 1606.1 On 11 May 1609 he acquired Finzean by charter from Alexander Gordon of Cluny.1
