     William Andrew Fairbairn was born on 22 December 1824.¹ He was the son of Sir William Fairbairn, 1st Bt. and Dorothy Mar.² He married, firstly, Marianne Murray, daughter of William Murray, on 12 September 1849.¹ He married, secondly, Helen Birley, daughter of Richard Birley, on 26 May 1864.² He died on 26 January 1910 at age 85.²

     William Murray held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newcastle-under-Lyme.¹

     Marianne Murray was the daughter of William Murray.² She married William Andrew Fairbairn, son of Sir William Fairbairn, 1st Bt. and Dorothy Mar, on 12 September 1849.¹ She died on 29 March 1859.¹
     From 12 September 1849, her married name became Fairbairn.

     Reverend William Murray Fairbairn was born on 21 November 1850.¹ He was the son of William Andrew Fairbairn and Marianne Murray.² He married Frances Elizabeth Bury, daughter of John Bury, on 24 July 1879.¹ He died on 16 May 1929 at age 78.¹
     He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was the Rector at Loxbeare, Devon, England^G.¹

     John Bury lived at Ayton Lodge, Yorkshire, England^G.¹

     Frances Elizabeth Bury was the daughter of John Bury.² She married Reverend William Murray Fairbairn, son of William Andrew Fairbairn and Marianne Murray, on 24 July 1879.¹ She died on 14 June 1929.¹
     From 24 July 1879, her married name became Fairbairn.

     Vice-Admiral Bernard William Murray Fairbairn was born on 18 April 1880.¹ He was the son of Reverend William Murray Fairbairn and Frances Elizabeth Bury.² He married Alice Mary Phillipps, daughter of William Phillipps, on 29 April 1905.¹ He died on 5 April 1960 at age 79.¹
     He was educated at H.M.S. Britannia, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1901 in the Royal Navy.¹ He gained the rank of Commander in 1914.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1919.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.¹ He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1931.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1934.¹ He was President of the Ordnance Committee between 1934 and 1936.¹ He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral in 1936.¹ He was Commodore of Convoys of the during the Second World War between 1939 and 1942.¹ He was Commanding Officer of the Milford Haven between 1942 and 1945.¹ He was awarded the U.S. Legion of Merit.¹

     William Phillipps lived at Plymouth, Devon, England^G.¹

     Alice Mary Phillipps was the daughter of William Phillipps.² She married Vice-Admiral Bernard William Murray Fairbairn, son of Reverend William Murray Fairbairn and Frances Elizabeth Bury, on 29 April 1905.¹ She died on 16 November 1970.¹
     From 29 April 1905, her married name became Fairbairn.

     Alan Bernard Murray Fairbairn was born on 20 February 1906.¹ He was the son of Vice-Admiral Bernard William Murray Fairbairn and Alice Mary Phillipps.² He married Adeline Hilda Sweet, daughter of Lt.-Col. Edward Herbert Sweet, on 18 December 1943.¹ He died on 6 January 1995 at age 88 at New Forest, Hampshire, England.^1,3
     He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, England^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal NAvy.¹ He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1973.¹
