John Graham Esplen was born on 4 August 1932.1 He was the son of Sir William Graham Esplen, 2nd Bt. and Aline Octavia Hedley.2 He married Valerie Joan Lambooy, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Albert Percy Lambooy, on 6 October 1956.1 He and Valerie Joan Lambooy were divorced in 1993.1 He died on 26 March 2016 at age 83.3
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the King’s Dragoon Guards and Northumberland Hussars.1 He graduated from St. Catharine’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1955 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Esplen, of Hardres Court, Canterbury, Kent [U.K., 1921] in 1989, although he does not use the title.1 He lived in 2003 at Lauriston, Weycombe Road, Haslemere, Surrey, EnglandG.1
