Sir Cecil Michael Wilford Brett was born in August 1852.1 He was the son of Richard Rich Wilford Brett and Emily Elliot.2 He married Margaret Ellen Davies, daughter of Henry Davies, in 1885.1 He died on 12 November 1939 at age 87.1
He was with the Bengal Civil Service between 1872 and 1913.1 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1884 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey.1 He held the office of Judge of the High Court [Bengal] between 1900 and 1913.1
