     David Gabriel Morton Mansel-Pleydell was born on 26 March 1923.¹ He was the son of Ralph Morton Mansel-Pleydell and Countess Marguerite Marie Louise Barbe Ghislaine d‘Ursel.² He married Elizabeth Susan Luard, daughter of John McVean Luard, on 5 December 1963.¹ He died on 6 January 1973 at age 49 at Brussels, Belgium.^1,3
     He was educated at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, Yorkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in 1942 in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1942 and 1945, where he became a (POW, Jan–May 1945.² He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.)¹

     Dorothy Isabel Morton Mansel-Pleydell was born on 2 September 1881.¹ She was the daughter of Rev. Canon John Colvile Morton Mansel-Pleydell and Beatrice Maud Smith.² She married Major Edward Pelham Smith, son of Abel Smith and Lady Susan Emma Pelham, on 27 April 1910.¹ She died on 20 December 1927 at age 46.¹
     From 27 April 1910, her married name became Smith.
