Lt.-Col. Arthur Percy Archibald Elphinstone1

He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army.1 He was Commanding Officer of the 22nd Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers.1 He styled himself as Baronet Elphinstone in February 1907, which had been dormant since 1645, on his uncle’s death.1 He fought in the First World War.1

He gained the rank of Colonel in the Deptford and Woolwich Volunteers.2 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1802.2 He was created 1st Baronet Hartwell, of Dale Hall, Essex [U.K.] on 26 October 1805.1 He was Director of Greenwich Hospital.2
