He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1939 in the King’s Own Scottish Borderers.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1941 and 1945, in East Africa and Burma.1 He gained the rank of Major in 1944.1 He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.1 He graduated from King’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1950 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Eliott, of Stobs [N.S., 1666] on 26 July 1958.1 He wrote the book The Elliots, The Story of a Border Clan, published 1974.1
