     Claude Llewellyn Pomeroy Trench was born on 5 February 1881.1 He was the son of William Wallace Trench and Catherine Sabine Sulivan.1 He married Annie Elizabeth Davis, daughter of William Charles Davis, on 27 December 1911.1 He died on 5 April 1945 at age 64.1
     He gained the rank of trooper in the South African Constabulary.1 He fought in the Boer War, where he won a medal with three clasps.1 He fought in the First World War, where he won two medals.1 He gained the rank of Driver in the Royal Army Service Corps.1
