     F/O John Frankcomb was born on 31 October 1914 at Ranelagh, Tasmania, Australia.2,3 He was the son of Thomas Amesbury Frankcomb.2 He married Mary Blackwood, daughter of Captain Maurice Baldwin Raymond Blackwood and Dorothea Edwards, in 1940.1 He died on 14 September 1942 at age 27, killed on active service.1,2
     He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Flying Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force.1
