     William Joseph Gallwey was born on 2 June 1847.¹ He was the son of Henry Gallwey and Maria Walsh.² He married Frances Kate Trelawner Davies, daughter of Reverend Edward William Lewis Davies, on 25 January 1883.¹ He died on 30 July 1926 at age 79.¹
