     Major Edward Mathew Palliser was born on 20 September 1828.1 He was the son of Wray Bury Palliser and Anne Gledstanes.2,1 He married, secondly, Ann Prentis, daughter of Captain unknown Prentis.1 He married, firstly, Jane Lilias Rose, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir John Rose, 14th of Holme, in 1865.1 He died on 15 March 1907 at age 78.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 7th Hussars.1 He fought in the Crimean War.1 He fought in the Umbeyla CampaIgn in 1863.1 He fought in the Riel Revolt in 1885, as a Staff Officer, Alberta Field Force.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Canadian Militia.1 He lived at Annesgift, County Tipperary, IrelandG.1
