     Colonel Kendal Fergusson Franks was born on 22 September 1886.¹ He was the son of Sir Kendal Matthew St. John Franks and Gertrude Jane Butt.² He married Effie Violet Hazel Catania, daughter of George Frederick McLeod Catania and Effie Lilian Stanyon, in 1914.¹ He died on 24 December 1944 at age 58.¹
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded twice.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Indian Army.¹ He fought in the South Persia Expedition between 1918 and 1919.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1919.¹ He was commander of the Royal Battalion, 5th Mahratta Light Infantry between 1930 and 1934.¹ He was Recruiting Officer, Poona between 1936 and 1940.¹ He was Assistant Director of Recruiting between 1940 and 1944.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1943.¹

     Major George Murray Rolland, V.C. was born on 12 May 1869.² He married Effie Lilian Stanyon.³ He died on 9 July 1910 at age 41.²
     He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.)¹ He gained the rank of Major on 9 November 1907 in the Indian Army.^1,2

     Effie Violet Hazel Catania was the daughter of George Frederick McLeod Catania and Effie Lilian Stanyon.^2,3 She married Colonel Kendal Fergusson Franks, son of Sir Kendal Matthew St. John Franks and Gertrude Jane Butt, in 1914.¹ She died on 13 December 1954.
     Effie Violet Hazel Catania also went by the nick-name of Dolly.¹ From 1914, her married name became Franks.

     Major Gerald Murray Kendal Franks was born on 6 March 1915.¹ He was the son of Colonel Kendal Fergusson Franks and Effie Violet Hazel Catania.² He married Pauline Kensington Moir, daughter of Lt.-Col. Malcolm Edward Moir, in September 1946.¹ He died on 12 August 1968 at age 53.¹
     He was educated at Campbell College, Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Canadian Army Military Intelligence.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Mahratta Light Infantry and Baluch Regiment.¹ He was Professor of Russian in 1962 at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, U.S.A.^G.¹

     Lt.-Col. Malcolm Edward Moir lived at Trois Rivieres, Quebec, Canada^G.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.¹

     Pauline Kensington Moir is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Malcolm Edward Moir.² She married Major Gerald Murray Kendal Franks, son of Colonel Kendal Fergusson Franks and Effie Violet Hazel Catania, in September 1946.¹
     From September 1946, her married name became Franks. She lived in 1976 at 113 Franklin Avenue, Athens, Ohio, U.S.A.^G.¹

     Andrew Kendal Franks was born on 10 June 1948.¹ He is the son of Major Gerald Murray Kendal Franks and Pauline Kensington Moir.²
     He was educated at Athens High School, Athens, Ohio, U.S.A.^G.¹ He graduated from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, U.S.A.^G, in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)¹ He graduated from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, U.S.A.^G, in 1974 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was an economist.¹

     Roger Patrick Kendal Franks was born on 4 June 1950.¹ He is the son of Major Gerald Murray Kendal Franks and Pauline Kensington Moir.²
     He was educated at Athens High School, Athens, Ohio, U.S.A.^G.¹ He graduated from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, U.S.A.^G, in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)¹ He graduated from Trinity Divinity School, Deerfield, Illinois, U.S.A.^G, in 1975 with a Master of Divinty (M.Div.)¹

     Christina Kendal Franks was born on 23 August 1955.¹ She is the daughter of Major Gerald Murray Kendal Franks and Pauline Kensington Moir.²

     Hugh Philip Kendal Franks was born on 20 August 1916.¹ He is the son of Colonel Kendal Fergusson Franks and Effie Violet Hazel Catania.² He married Florence Margaret Parkinson, daughter of Ernest Parkinson, on 11 June 1946.¹
     He was educated at Campbell College, Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He was commander of the 1st Battalion, Bombay Grenadiers between 1945 and 1947.¹ He retired from the military in 1949, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the Indian Army.¹ He was with HM Foreign Service between 1949 and 1972.¹ He was Company Secretary for Trills of Hawkhurst in 1975.¹ He lived in 1976 at 7 The Meads, Hartley, Cranbrook, Kent, England^G.¹
