     William Hume was born in 1747 at Humewood, County Wicklow, Ireland.2,3 He was the son of George Hume and Anna Butler.2 He married Catherine Hoare, daughter of Sir Joseph Hoare, 1st Bt. and Catherine Somerville.4 He died on 8 October 1798 at Wicklow Mountains, County Wicklow, Ireland, shot by a party of rebels.2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)1 He lived at Humewood, County Wicklow, IrelandG.1
