     John Joseph Paterson Fox was born on 28 April 1833.1 He was the son of Mathew Fox and Charlotte Paterson.2 He married Kate Crofton Murry, daughter of Sir James Murry and Mary Allen M’Garel, on 28 April 1870.1 He died in May 1910 at age 77.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 56th Regiment.1
