     Cecil O’Bryen FitzMaurice, 8th Earl of Orkney was born on 3 July 1919.¹ He was the son of Captain Douglas Frederick Harold FitzMaurice and Dorothy Jeanette Dickie.² He married Rose Katherine Durk Silley, daughter of Joseph William Durk Silley and Elsie Eliza Sabin, on 27 November 1953.¹ He died on 5 February 1998 at age 78.¹
     He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Army Service Corps.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He fought in the Korean War.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Viscount Kirkwall [S., 1696] on 21 August 1951.² He succeeded as the 8th Earl of Orkney [S., 1696] on 21 August 1951.² He succeeded as the 8th Baron Dechmont [S., 1696] on 21 August 1951.²

     Rose Katherine Durk Silley was born on 30 March 1914.² She was the daughter of Joseph William Durk Silley and Elsie Eliza Sabin.^1,2 She was baptised on 3 June 1914 at St. Mary, Brixham, Devon, England.² She married Cecil O’Bryen FitzMaurice, 8th Earl of Orkney, son of Captain Douglas Frederick Harold FitzMaurice and Dorothy Jeanette Dickie, on 27 November 1953.¹ She died on 27 July 1995 at age 81.¹
     From 27 November 1953, her married name became FitzMaurice. After her marriage, Rose Katherine Durk Silley was styled as Countess of Orkney on 27 November 1953.

     Joseph William Durk Silley was born on 20 February 1876 at Burham, Devon, England.² He was the son of Thomas Elias Barter Silley and Catherine Amanda Durk.² He was baptised on 26 March 1876 at St. Mary, Brixham, Devon, England.² He married Elsie Eliza Sabin on 3 June 1909 at St. Mary, Brixham, Devon, England.²
     He lived at Brixham, Devon, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War, with Royal Horse Artillery.²

     Archibald Hamilton FitzMaurice was born on 27 June 1894.¹ He was the son of Douglas Commerel Menzies FitzMaurice and Esther Davies.² He died on 12 March 1918 at age 23, killed in action.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 16th Lancers.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1 Squadron, Royal Flying Corps.³

     Cecil Hamilton Kirkwell FitzMaurice was born on 24 May 1896.¹ He was the son of Douglas Commerel Menzies FitzMaurice and Esther Davies.² He died on 3 May 1915 at age 18, killed while on active service.³

     Llewellyn Abraham FitzMaurice was born on 16 September 1867.¹ He was the son of Commander Hon. Frederick O’Bryen FitzMaurice and Mary Anne Taylor Abraham.² He married Alice Ada Gay, daughter of Robert Gay, in 1890.¹ He died in 1953.¹
     He gained the rank of officer in the Australian Imperial Forces.¹
