Vice-Admiral Sir Alexander Dundas Young Arbuthnott was baptised on 7 March 1789 at Gosport, Hampshire, England.3 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Robert Arbuthnott and Cordelia Murray.3 He married Catherine Maria Eustace, daughter of Reverend Charles Eustace and Cassandra Stannard, on 25 May 1828.1 He died on 8 May 1871 at age 82 at Leicester, Leicestershire, England.1,3 He was buried at Shenton, Leicestershire, England.3
He held the office of Gentleman of the Privy Chamber to HM Queen Victoria.4
