     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was admitted to Middle Temple entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He was Private Secretary to the Governor-General of India (his maternal cousin Lord William Bentinck) between 1828 and 1835.1 He held the office of Master of the Supreme Court of Calcutta.1
