     John Darby was the son of Edmund Darby.2 He married Finola O’Carroll O’Carroll, daughter of William Odhar O’Carroll, after 1557.1 He died in 1608.1
     He gained the rank of Captain of Horse in the Earl of Sussex’s army, at the siege of the O’Carroll stronghold of Leim O’Bannon (‘The Leap of O’Bannon’).1 He lived at Leap Castle, County Offaly, IrelandG.1
