     Hugh Cullen was born on 6 January 1829.¹ He was the son of Michael Cullen and Ellen Whelan.² He married Elizabeth Leonard, daughter of Patrick Leonard and Teresa Aungier, on 9 February 1858.¹ He died on 21 June 1897 at age 68.¹
