     Sir Alexander Stuart was born on 21 March 1824 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He was the son of Alexander Stuart and Mary McKnight.¹ He married Christiana Eliza Wood, daughter of Lieutenant John Wood, on 10 November 1853 at Cobbity, New South Wales, Australia^G.¹ He died on 16 June 1886 at age 62 at 52 Stanhope Garden, London, England^G.¹
     He was educated between 1832 and 1835 at Edinburgh Academy, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He emigrated to New Zealand^G arriving on 1850.¹

     Christiana Eliza Wood was the daughter of Lieutenant John Wood.¹ She married Sir Alexander Stuart, son of Alexander Stuart and Mary McKnight, on 10 November 1853 at Cobbity, New South Wales, Australia^G.¹ She died in 1889.¹
     She was with the Bank of New South Wales in 1852.¹ From 10 November 1853, her married name became Stuart.¹ She held the office of Member of the Legislative Assembly (M.L.A.) [New South Wales] between February 1876 and November 1879.¹ She held the office of Member of the Legislative Assembly (M.L.A.) [New South Wales] between 6 July 1880 and 7 October 1885.¹ She was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in June 1885.¹

     Lieutenant John Wood gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.¹

     Frances Emily Stuart is the daughter of Rt. Rev. Edward Craig Stuart and Anne Alicia de Courcy.¹ She married Marsden Clarke, son of George Clarke.¹
     Her married name became Clarke.¹

     Marsden Clarke was the son of George Clarke.¹ He married Frances Emily Stuart, daughter of Rt. Rev. Edward Craig Stuart and Anne Alicia de Courcy.¹ He died in 1889.²

     George Clarke was a missionary at New Zealand^G.¹

     Edward de Courcy Clarke is the son of Marsden Clarke and Frances Emily Stuart.¹
     He was a geologist.¹

     Frances Clarke was the daughter of Marsden Clarke and Frances Emily Stuart.¹ She married David Scott, son of unknown Scott, in 1913.² She died, without issue.¹
     From 1913, her married name became Scott.²
