     He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Physicians, London (L.R.C.P.)¹ He was registered as a Member, Royal College of Surgeons (M.R.C.S.)¹

     Major Matthew James Manuia Dewar was born on 8 August 1890.¹ He was the son of Dr. Matthew Everard Puakahakoililanimanuia Makalua and Annie Clementina Dewar.² He married Marjorie Harriet Beaman, daughter of Surgn.-Gen. Ardern Hulme Beaman, on 5 April 1915.¹ He died on 23 November 1952 at age 62.¹
     He was given the name of Matthew James Manuia Makalua at birth.¹ He was educated at Oratory School, Woodcote, Edgbaston, Warwickshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Sussex Regiment.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded in 1916.¹ He was awarded the Croix de Guerre avec palmes.¹ He was Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.¹ On 1 August 1930 his name was legally changed to Matthew James Manuia Dewar.¹ On 1 August 1930 (an unknown value.)¹ He fought in the Second World War, with the Royal Engineers.¹ He was with the Publicity and PRO, British Western Region.¹

     Surgn.-Gen. Ardern Hulme Beaman lived at Eastbourne, Sussex, England.² He gained the rank of Surgeon-General in the Indian Medical Service.¹

     Marjorie Harriet Beaman was the daughter of Surgn.-Gen. Ardern Hulme Beaman.² She married Major Matthew James Manuia Dewar, son of Dr. Matthew Everard Puakahakoililanimanuia Makalua and Annie Clementina Dewar, on 5 April 1915.¹ She died on 29 June 1984.¹
     From 5 April 1915, her married name became Makalua. From 1 August 1930, her married name became Dewar.¹

     David Matthew Henry Dewar of Gilston was born on 22 January 1919.¹ He was the son of Major Matthew James Manuia Dewar and Marjorie Harriet Beaman.² He married Barbara Mary Terry, daughter of Frederick Charles Andrews Terry, on 4 June 1954.¹ He died on 12 September 1999 at age 80 at Sutton, Surrey, England.^1,3
     He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Engineers.¹ He gained the rank of Rieutenant in 1941.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1945.¹ He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1946 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was registered as a Chartered Mechanical Engineer.¹ He was registered as a Associate Member, Institution of Mechanical Engineers (A.M.I.Mech.E.) in 1949.¹ He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 2 November 1954.¹

     Frederick Charles Andrews Terry lived at Brighton, Sussex, England^G.¹

     Barbara Mary Terry is the daughter of Frederick Charles Andrews Terry.² She married David Matthew Henry Dewar of Gilston, son of Major Matthew James Manuia Dewar and Marjorie Harriet Beaman, on 4 June 1954.¹
     From 4 June 1954, her married name became Dewar. She lived in 2003 at 10 Croham Mount, South Croydon, Surrey, England^G.¹

     Anne Mary Erskine Dewar was born on 6 May 1955.¹ She is the daughter of David Matthew Henry Dewar of Gilston and Barbara Mary Terry.² She married Gary Richard Rowsome, son of David Patrick Rowsome, on 16 April 1979.¹
     From 16 April 1979, her married name became Rowsome.
