He succeeded as the 3rd Baron de Villiers, of Wynberg, in the province of the Cape of Good Hope, in the Union of South Africa [U.K., 1910] on 10 February 1934.1 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1936 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1938 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was admitted to Auckland Supreme Court in 1949.2
