Dr. Brian Talbot Cleeve1 
Dr. Brian Talbot Cleeve was born on 22 November 1921.1 He was the son of Major Charles Edward Cleeve and Josephine Eugenie Jeanne Talbot.3,1 He married Helena Maureen Veronica McAdie, daughter of James McAdie, on 24 September 1945.1 He married, secondly, Patricia Mary Ledwidge, daughter of Patrick J. Ledwidge and Bridget McDonald, on 15 November 2001.4 He died on 11 March 2003 at age 81 at Shankill, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.2
He was educated at St. Edward’s School, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, with the Merchant Navy, King’s African Rifles and Military Intelligence.1 He was a journalist between 1947 and 1954 at South AfricaG.1 He wrote the book The Far Hills, published 1952.1 He graduated from University of South Africa, Pretoria, Transvaal, South AfricaG, in 1953 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 In 1954 he was expelled from South Africa for his anti-Apartheid views.2 He was a journalist and broadcaster in 1954 at IrelandG.1 He graduated from National University of Ireland, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)1 He wrote the book Death of a Painted Lady, published 1962.1 He wrote the book Horse Thieves of Ballysaggert, published 1966.1 He wrote the book Dictionary of Irish Writers, published between 1967 and 1971, 3 volumes.1 He wrote the book Cry of Morning, published 1971.1 He wrote the book Tread Softly in This Place, published 1972.1 He lived in 1976 at 60 Heytesbury Lane, Ballsbridge, Dublin, COunty Dublin, IrelandG.1 He lived in 1976 at Rosie’s Cottage, Tara Hill, County Wexford, IrelandG.1
