     He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1918.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.¹ He lived at Cedar Grange, Caterham, Surrey, England^G.¹

     Mary Elizabeth MacCarthy-Morrogh is the daughter of James MacCarthy-Morrogh.² She married Lt.-Col. Louis Peile Carden, son of Andrew Carden and Ann Berkeley, in 1891.¹
     She was also known as May.¹ From 1891, her married name became Carden.

     Eileen Anne Carden was born on 21 June 1899.¹ She is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Louis Peile Carden and Mary Elizabeth MacCarthy-Morrogh.² She married Hartland Seymour Tupholme, son of R. Hartland Seymour Tupholme, on 18 March 1936.¹ She and Hartland Seymour Tupholme were divorced in 1939.¹
     From 18 March 1936, her married name became Tupholme. She lived in 1976 at 5 Elm Tree Road Mansions, London, England^G.¹

     R. Hartland Seymour Tupholme lived at 59 Evelyn Terrace, Southampton, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Hartland Seymour Tupholme is the son of R. Hartland Seymour Tupholme.² He married Eileen Anne Carden, daughter of Lt.-Col. Louis Peile Carden and Mary Elizabeth MacCarthy-Morrogh, on 18 March 1936.¹ He and Eileen Anne Carden were divorced in 1939.¹

     Lionel Berkeley Carden was born on 17 May 1863.¹ He was the son of Andrew Carden and Ann Berkeley.^2,1 He married, firstly, Mary Adalema Wildinson in 1889 at Wisconsin, U.S.A.^G.¹ He and Mary Adalema Wildinson were divorced in 1896.¹ He married, secondly, Jennie Belle on 13 July 1898 at Utah, U.S.A.^G.¹ He married, thirdly, Anna (?) on 10 June 1911.¹ He died in 1923.¹
     He emigrated to U.S.A.^G.¹ He fought in the First World War, with the Canadian Army.¹

     Mary Adalema Wildinson married Lionel Berkeley Carden, son of Andrew Carden and Ann Berkeley, in 1889 at Wisconsin, U.S.A.^G.¹ She and Lionel Berkeley Carden were divorced in 1896.¹
     Mary Adalema Wildinson also went by the nick-name of Delle.¹ From 1889, her married name became Carden.
