     Catherine Octavia Carden was born on 22 March 1868.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Wilson Carden and Jane Bolton King.² She married, firstly, Captain Charles Gustavus Edwardes Edwardes, son of Captain Owen Tucker Edwardes, on 7 October 1888.¹ She married, secondly, Victor James Higgon, son of John Donald George Higgon, on 4 October 1905.¹ She died on 18 November 1954 at age 86.¹
     From 7 October 1888, her married name became Edwardes.¹ She was a tennis champion in 1890 at Singapore^G.¹ She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Pembrokeshire.¹ From 4 October 1905, her married name became Higgon.¹ She was with the British Red Cross Society and Girl Guides.¹ She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)¹ She was a breeder and judge of Sealyham Terriers and Welsh Corgis.¹

     Reverend James Carden was born on 6 October 1819.¹ He was the son of John Carden and Ann Rutter.² He died on 28 February 1878 at age 58, unmarried.¹
     He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹

     William Berkeley Carden was born on 25 February 1852.¹ He was the son of Andrew Carden and Ann Berkeley.^2,1 He died on 16 March 1873 at age 21, unmarried.¹

     Andrew Murray Carden was born on 4 August 1853.² He was the son of Andrew Carden and Ann Berkeley.^2,1 He died on 14 June 1932 at age 78, unmarried.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Horse Artillery.² He held the office of High Sheriff of County Tipperary in 1888.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Tipperary.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Tipperary.¹ He lived at Barnane, County Tipperary, Ireland^G.²

     Admiral Sir Sackville Hamilton Carden was born on 3 May 1857.¹ He was the son of Andrew Carden and Ann Berkeley.^2,1 He married, firstly, Mary Louisa Nunn, daughter of Captain Loftus Joshua Nunn, on 1 March 1879.¹ He married, secondly, Henrietta Harrison, daughter of William English Harrison, on 8 May 1909.¹ He died on 6 May 1930 at age 73.¹
     He was educated at H.M.S. Britannia, England^G.¹ He was commissioned in 1870, in the service of the Royal Navy.¹ He fought in the Egyptian War in 1882.¹ He was awarded the Khedive’s Star in 1882.¹ He fought in the Suakim Campaign in 1884.¹ He fought in the Benin Campaign in 1897.¹ He was Rear-Admiral of the Atlantic Fleet in 1910.¹ He was Superintendant of the Malta Dockyard between 1912 and 1914.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was commander of the East Mediterranean Allied Squadrons and Naval Operations at the Dardanelles in March 1915 until incapacitated by illness.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1916.¹

     Captain Loftus Joshua Nunn gained the rank of Captain in the 99th Foot.¹

     Mary Louisa Nunn is the daughter of Captain Loftus Joshua Nunn.² She married Admiral Sir Sackville Hamilton Carden, son of Andrew Carden and Ann Berkeley, on 1 March 1879.¹
     From 1 March 1879, her married name became Carden.
