She was founder and first Principal between 1859 and 1912 at Victoria College, Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland^G.¹ She was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, in 1905.¹ She was a Senator at Belfast University, Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland^G.¹

     Ellen Branchfloer Hovell was born in 1856.² She was the daughter of Dennis de Berdt Hovell and Mary de Horne.^1,2 She married Ernest Bevir in 1882 at St. Georges Hanover Square, London, England.^1,2 She died in 1929 at Basingstoke, Hampshire, England.²
     From 1882, her married name became Bevir.¹

     James Reid lived at Netherleigh, Belmont, County Down, Ireland^G.¹

     Fanny Reid was the daughter of James Reid.² She married Sir John William Byers, son of Reverend John Byers and Margaret Morrow, on 10 September 1902.¹ She died on 10 February 1950.¹
     From 10 September 1902, her married name became Byers.

     Henry Silverlock married Mary Grant, daughter of Richard Grant.¹
     He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn.¹

     Rt. Hon. Sir John Milne Barbour, 1st and last Bt. held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He lived at Conway, Dunmurry, County Antrim, Ireland^G.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)¹ He was created 1st Baronet Barbour, of Hilden, in the County of Antrim [U.K.] on 17 August 1943.

     Mary Davey Barbour is the daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir John Milne Barbour, 1st and last Bt.² She married Lt.-Col. Rowland Morrow Byers, son of Sir John William Byers and Fanny Reid, on 3 July 1929.¹
     From 3 July 1929, her married name became Byers.

     Reverend Mark Pattison married Emilia Frances Strong, daughter of Major Henry Strong, before 1885.¹ He died before 1885.¹
     He was the Rector at Lincoln College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹
