     William Butler was born circa 1754.¹ He was the son of William Butler and Honora Scully.¹ A settlement for the marriage between him and Mary White was made on 15 July 1781.¹
     He matriculated at Kilkenny School, Kilkenny, County Kilkenny, Ireland^G, on 12 February 1768.¹

     Catherine Butler was the daughter of William Butler and Anne Butler.² She married John Butler, son of Edward Butler and Mary Walsh, in February 1808.¹ She died on 25 March 1873.¹

     William Francis Butler was born in 1814.¹ He was the son of John Butler and Catherine Butler.² He married Jane Diana Bunbury, daughter of Captain Benjamin Bunbury, on 14 April 1842.¹ He died on 27 September 1906.¹
     He was admitted to Gray’s Inn in 1839 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Wilton, County Kilkenny, Ireland^G.¹
